Drivex to compete again in Formula Winter Series

Drivex will be another well-known Spanish junior team to compete in the Formula Winter Series. Former Formula 1 driver Pedro de la Rosa and Miguel Ángel de Castro founded the racing team in 2005. Among others, last year’s WEC LMP2 champion Rui Andrade, Red Bull Junior Oliver Goethe and Alpine works driver Ferdinand Habsburg went through the team’s school.

Last year, the racing series contested two race weekends in the Formula Winter Series before regulations of the Spanish Formula 4 racing series prevented further starts. For the 2024 season, GEDLICH Racing is working closely with the national Formula 4 racing series in Spain so that participants in the Spanish racing series will be able to contest all race weekends in the Formula Winter Series in future. Drivex will therefore also be competing with three cars in all races.

The Tatuus cars in the team will be driven by Juan Cota from Spain, Mikkel Pedersen from Denmark and Francisco Macedo from Portugal.

Only Macedo from Portugal will be making his motorsport debut in the Formula Winter Series. Pedersen was last year’s champion in the Danish Formula 4 and is therefore one of the favourites for this year’s winter season. Juan Cota has already raced for Drivex in the Formula Winter Series and Spanish Formula 4 in 2023 and therefore has plenty of experience going into the upcoming race weekends.
