Monlau Competition in Formula Winter Series

For many years, Monlau Competition has made an excellent name for itself in a wide variety of motorsport disciplines. The Spanish team competes in the national Formula 4 championship, but also takes part in endurance races in the 24H Series. The team is also successful on two wheels and takes part in the FIM JuniorGP, among others, which the team won in 2023.

In winter 2024, the racing team from the Spanish metropolis of Barcelona will take part in the Formula Winter Series for the first time. The team will be competing in the GEDLICH Racing series with two Tatuus cars.

At the season opener in Jerez, Spain, the German Lenny Ried will drive a car. Ried will be making his motor racing debut in Andalusia in the Monlau team’s car, having previously only competed in karting. The second driver in the team, Dutchman Tim Gerhards, will also celebrate his racing debut in formula racing.

Lenny is the youngest newcomer to the Ried family in motorsport. His older brother Jonas switched to endurance racing in 2023 after stints in junior racing series and took part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, among others. His father Christian Ried has competed in every FIA WEC race held to date and hung up his helmet at the end of the 2023 season. Together with Lenny’s grandfather Gerold, Christian Ried runs the successful Proton Competition racing team, which is represented in the FIA WEC, the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the European Le Mans Series with the Porsche 963, the Porsche 911 GT3 R, the Ford Mustang GT3 and LMP2 cars, among others.
